RE: Letter of Recommendation – Kevin Healy & Associates, LLC

I have known Kevin Healy for almost two years now. We met by chance. In May of 2006 I was asked by a good friend of mine to play a key role in raising funds for a family whom we worked with. As, I am sure you can relate to this, we had no idea what we were doing or where to begin. In searching fundraiser sites on the internet we noticed a name and number. I remember my friend and I looking at each other and her saying to me “should we call - I’m calling”. That person was Kevin Healy, he kindly returned our call and agreed to meet with us a couple of days later.

We met on the south side of Chicago. Kevin told us that he was just an average guy who works for the gas company and in 1991 had an idea to start a basketball tournament to help his close friends raise funds for medical expenses for their son. That day to me he was anything but average; he was the man who selflessly agreed to help us. Our fundraiser (Embracing Wanda) would be the 80th benefit facilitated by Kevin Healy. To this date he has facilitated over 100 fundraisers. I now know him to be everything he talks about – committed, motivated, responsible, accountable and above all an inspiration. His guidance, knowledge and experience are an invaluable asset.

We had four months to plan and run our event. Previous to meeting Kevin we had two meetings and I  personally felt that we really didn’t have a plan to accomplish everything we wanted to. After the first meeting Kevin attended I felt so relieved because I knew we finally had someone who knew what they were doing and who was going to help us along the way. He ran all our meetings never missing one despite their locations. He organized our group making sure all committees were headed up and had enough people to accomplish the various tasks. He explained to us the best way to raise funds through promotions, ticket sales and raffles. He also explained to us how to run our benefit using various sponsors to provide all that was needed for the day of the event. He knew exact amounts we would need to run the event – volunteers, food, beverages, etc. Each meeting he held us accountable to our short term goals to be sure we met all of our long term goals on the day of the benefit. As our event neared I know there were times when we fell short and he always helped us to rededicate ourselves to what we had set out to accomplish. We utilized his various vendors and contacts for some of the items we needed, whom were just as much a pleasure to work with as Kevin. The day of the Benefit came September 16, 2006 and it was everything he promised.

I know that many times we as individuals want to do something grand, to give back, but the tasks seem too great. The truth behind that is alone, maybe it is, but together as a group with the right leadership anything is possible. There were many great people involved in our fundraiser but without the leadership we had throughout our planning process I can’t say with certainty that it would have been the same.

Kevin Healy is one of the best men I know. I am comfortable vouching for him as a great individual and active citizen in the community. He is a trustworthy man and someone I am proud to call my friend. Based on my experience working with Kevin anyone who finds themselves in the same position looking for the direction to do something extraordinary has arrived at the right place. I have no hesitation in recommending Kevin Healy & Associates, LLC to facilitate any fund raising effort.
